Growing Edge

In line with our aim to inspire the development of a more regenerative culture, some members of Kettle Co-operative, as well as others in the local community have set up a new organsation- Growing edge, a not-for-profit dedicated to –

  • enabling people to reconnect with each other and the land through activities including land based volunteering opportunities, courses and community gardening.
  • regenerating land in order to promote biodiversity, sustainable food and herbal medicine growing, and human-nature connection.
  • providing access to land for other groups by working with land owners to make natural spaces available and accessable.
  • empowering people to improve their physical/mental health and wellbeing, helping tom counteract inactivity, isolation and loneliness.
  • promoting the learning of skills for resilience in the face of climate change, including food growing, sustainable land use, permaculture, environmental education, connection & co-operation.
  • making these things accessible to minority/disadvantaged groups including refugees and asylum seekers, single parents, people on low incomes and those
who would otherwise find it hard to access interactive natural environments and learn new skills.
